Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts
28 January 2009What a bunch of crooks this outfit is. I ordered a statue of Our Lady of Loreto and a t-shirt from them back in JUNE of 2008 (yes, that’s seven freaking months ago). I was told that the statues came from Italy and that there would be a three-month wait, so by the time October rolled around and I hadn’t heard a word from them, nor did I have my statue, I contacted them. I was told the statue was unavailable and that they would be sending me a refund.
As I said, that was October. It is now almost February. I’ve emailed and talked to these people more than I do to my own family. I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere. I once was able to speak to the owner, who gave me some song-and-dance about how his son has a cyst on his butt and needs treatment (like I care). I want my money back. We’re talking $300 here. The fact that this is a religious company makes it even more hypocritical and sleazy, in my opinion.
I’ve contacted both my state attorney general’s office and the Better Business Bureau, both of whom are investigating, but I’m not holding my breath. I just sent an email to this awesome guy who handles customer problems on one of our local news channels. At this point, I feel like he’s my last hope.
All I can say is: AVOID OUR LADY OF LOURDES TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC GIFTS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts is best company! I have bought rosaries, medals, art, and Cds from them. I have even ordered special order statues from this store. They informed me of the wait because everything is hand made and the wait was worth it. If you want the very best in Catholic goods order from this company and you thank yourself.

I agree with the above… I placed an order for a 10.00 print of the Latin Mass…plus 4.75 for priority mail. After two weeks, I called to check the status of the order. Then they sent the wrong print and I called AGAIN. I was told to keep that print and the one I ordered and had paid would be shipped the next day. After one month, nothing. No one is answering the phone.
I have filed complaints with the State Attorney General Office and Better Business Bureau and am considering hiring a private detective agency to
investigate this so called company. As a devout Catholic, I am insulted. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE THIEVES

I have bought many different items from Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts. They are outstanding company to deal with. I think this person that left this blog must be insane.

I think this person that left this message is a very bad person to say such things. I have purchased from this company and they were great.

I purchased a beautiful marble statue from Our lady of Lourdes it took a little over a year but the 5 ft. statue of the Blessed Mother was wonderful. I would tell anyone that this company is great!

In good faith, I ordered online from this fly by night company and paid immediately and also for
priority mailing. I never received my order. When I called this guy gave me one excuse after the other and finally no one answered the phone.
This has nothing to do with being bad or insane; this has to do with principle and honesty. This has to do with a company calling themselves Catholic. If you have been in my position you would have the same thoughts. So grow up

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!! We ordered a $1424 statue in June of 2008, OVER A YEAR AGO. It never arrived. Company owner David Trieger offers nothing but excuses. The latest was “the manufacturer lost the order.” At this point we just want our money back. He will not respond. NOTE: BBB complaints pending. BBB RATES THIS COMPANY “F” ON ITS A THRU F SCALE!!!

Our Lady of Lourdes has provided me first class service. Product was always very nice. Never had one problem with this company. I even order a special order statue. It took some time but when it cam in, it was better than picture on the web.

Our Lady of Lourdes is fantastic! We purchased five life size statues from this company. The statues were outstanding! The detail and quality was just as they stated. Thanks Our lady of Lourdes Trad. Catholic Gifts.

No I had the same experience as the first person.
I placed an order in Feb 2009. I only got one set of the dvd’s I ordered. I must have e-mailed 20 times. I got so many responses even that they fired someone over the oversight. But no product. Finally the end of June I got a refund check. It was ridiculous.
I wouldn’t order from there again either

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the two complainants here; I’ve ordered from Our Lady of Lourdes in the past and finally received the order (and in good condition). Now, I have an order with them for about $700.00 dating from May 2008, and I have gotten almost no information out of them; I’m told that their business is closed until their website is updated. I have given them my email address and my cell phone number. As I said, the owners have not seen fit to even call me in the past six months. Whether they deserve the harsh names some people call them, they are not good business people, to be sure. Caveat emptor!

Update: I was contacted by the “webmaster” of Our Lady of Lourdes yesterday (July 12, 2009) saying that they were filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Monday, July 13, 2009. The contact did not attempt to answer my specific question regarding my order, still outstanding, for about $700, but merely gave me the name of the lawyer (Adrian Nichols of Dallas, Texas) handling the bankruptcy; they did not even give me his telephone number! However, I found it on the web, and it is (972) 231-5500, for anyone still trying to get their money back from this poorly managed (it has to be said) company.

Do not order from this company! In August 2008 I ordered a 60″ marble statue of Our Lady of Grace. I was told it was coming from Italy but carved in China so would take a while. I have called repeatedly but now they are not even answering the phone. It has almost been 1 year and I still do not have my statue, have paid them $3500.00 and cannot even get in touch with them. I am so disheartened to think a person would masquerade as a “spiritual person” only to rob good Christians who have honestly placed their trust and money in what appeared to be a reputable company.

I’ve been waiting for my statue for 2 months and now
their phone is disconnected…you used to be able to leave a message but you can’t even do that now. I agree that last year they provided good service but what has happened and they still owe me my money!!!
July 17th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
I ordered a $500 statue from them on April 3rd and have yet to receive it. The phone line is busy and their website no longer exists! Getting concerned. Anyone have any info. on this company?
July 20th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
I am also angry, I placed an order to a statue of our lady of fatima, $299 us plus shiping to Australia, it is now 12 months, in march i was told the statue had been shipped to me 2 weeks prior and it should arrive in 2-4 weeks, well it is now 5 months, accordinly they have no refund policy for what they deem as special orders talk about crooks if someone can give me the details of the attorney generals office i to will send a complaint and i think i will add a complaint to the aust. embassy and see if they can bring some pressure to bear some where I AGREE AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS U CAN WALK INTO THE SHOP AND BUY DIRECT, IF INDEED THEY HAVE A SHOP ??

July 27th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I had the exact same problem. I ordered an expensive statue ten months ago. I never received it , they don’t answer my e mails and the phone is always busy. No statue no money ,and no way to get ahold of anyone at the store. This is a scam. Do not purchase from them!
July 28th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
Our Lady of Lourdes Trad. catholic Gifts did a very good job when I ordered product. Never had any problems. I think the person who wrote that is crazy.
July 29th, 2009 at 4:29 am
This is company is great! I have bought product from them for years. They always did fine by me.
One thing about this company is they always had a great selection of product. I purchased a custom statue from them for my church it took about a year and half, but it was really great to see this kind of craftmenship.
July 30th, 2009 at 5:11 pm
I ordered a Ecce Homo bust from Our Lady of Lourdes traditional Catholic gifts during the Easter recess of April 2009. Today is July 30, 2009, and I STILL HAVE NOT received this beautiful icon. I called them in May 2009,and I too, was told that the statue is coming in from Italy; and that they were “waiting for it to get to the[ir] store.” This seems quite corrupted that if they knew that they were filing for bankruptcy, that they would have the decency to call people and refund their money. THIS IS NOT CATHOLIC behavior! Sad… I live in New York. How can this company do this when there are so many people looking to have beauty in their homes from different states? I’d like my money back please.

We ordered a custom made statue of Our Lady of Knock in May 2007 immediately paying almost $4000. When attempts at the statue were unsatisfactory we requested a full refund but were refused. Mr Trieger gave us his word that the statue was almost ready for approval. We are very saddened here in Ireland that no attempt was made to inform us of the situation. Unjust and immoral. Our Lady of Lourdes, intercede!
August 5th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I ordered a 12″ statue back in March of 2009, as a birthday present for myself. My husband & I had saved up the $400 dollars needed for it. I was told that I would receive it in early July. I guess that I’ve been lied to. This guy cashes checks, and doesn’t even bother to order the statues? This is so wrong, and cruel. Either give me my staute, or give me back my money. This is unCatholic!
August 7th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I ordered a Papal Crucifix from them about a year and a half ago. Got it, wore it, loved it. I have since lost it.(The clasp broke and it must have fallen off or something.) At any rate, I am looking to buy another one in the same style. I was also eyeing a couple of the saint charms for family members. It’s very dissapointing that this company has gone belly up and has treated people this way. I am looking for another company that handles these same products. Can anyone help??
August 12th, 2009 at 8:38 pm
For those of you who may have overlooked my “Update” from July of this year (2009): this company has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Basically, this means that creditors (customers, in this case) will not necessarily be paid anything, unless there is some money to be had from what’s left of their business. If you are a creditor, you should contact Mr. Andrew Nichols of Dallas, TX (the lawyer handling their bankruptcy), and you can be added to the official list of creditors. But I have a feeling that it won’t net anyone a refund. Nichols’ office offered to get me the name of the companies in Spain and South America that make the statues, but it’s been over a month with no word from them after the initial offer of help. For what it’s worth: the Our Lady of Lourdes people claim that the foreign companies took their money without delivering the statues.

I ordered a custom statue of an Our Lady of Victory from this company. It took a little over a year and it came in. It was wonderful! The detail and the painting was just wonderful. I have ordered rosaries and medals also and the product always came in and were very beautiful.

I ordered a gold medal from this company. It came very fast and was the perfect gift for my wife. She wears it all the time. This type of quality product can not be found in this day. I would give this company an A for service and quality of product. The sad thing today is all you hear from people is the negative and not the positive. I am sad they closed their doors. Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts will be missed.

Hey this company went out of buisness. Do you think these people wanted this to happen? No, they did not want to go out of buisness. Give these poor people a break. I personally got many wonderful products from this company and will miss the service they provided. The people that call themselves christian and do not forgive are hypocrites and have sinned by posting such horrible statements. Christ’s followers asked Him how many times they should forgive a sinner and Christ responed 70 x 7. It is sad to see so many poor examples of the Catholic faith posting such bad remarks. All of you need to go to confession. Father Mike.

I have made a couple of rather large orders from this company, and the statues arrived as promised, were extremely beautiful, and exceeded my expecations. The owner was very kind, helpful, prompt, and always worked with me to get the statues exactly like I wanted them. I pray all goes well for him and his faithful Catholic family.

I concur that Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts needs to be ashamed of themselves. In our case, one of our Eagle Scouts built a grotto to our Blessed Mother, and small handful of men from our parish chipped in $1250 and purchased a 48″ Our Lady of Grace statue. We too were told that it was being hand-made in Chile…then China…then it was shipped to the US…then it wasn’t…no responses to emails, voice mails, nothing. Even the owner, “Phyllis”, called me and told me more lies. I’m very saddened, but still out big bucks and feel very bad for the Eagle Scout who worked so hard for this. Disgusted in Raleigh…

I ordered a life size crucifix which is gorgeous. It never came with the wood cross so I am contemplating whether I should have one made. Think the owner got himself into a major financial rut.
Some people have not not gotten their merchandise even though they paid in full. Owner may not have ever paid the manufactures money that customers paid it seems.
January 6th, 2010 at 4:48 pm
I have to agree with those above. Ordered a Our Lady of Mt. Carmel statue a few years ago. Took about one year and a ton of telephone calls to finally get the statue. Also, after about four months, they sent the wrong statue and it was damaged.

I did business with Our Lady of Lourdes and found them to be very good people. Many companies are going under during this horrible economic time. Some people lost money and that is too bad, where is the compassion for this company and the people who lost their jobs. Christ said turn the other cheek. All I see is a bunch of Catholics in name only. You can go to Mass, but if you never show compassion or forgiveness then it is pointless.
February 16th, 2010 at 12:39 am
It is shame this company went out of business. Got many great medals from this company. They did a very good job.
February 16th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
Granted, in this economy many businesses have failed … but, to leave its customers who paid good money, in good faith, with the expectation of a promised service, for that company not to take responsibility and extend common courtesy to inform those customers that their goods would not be delivered, nor monies refunded, is grossly negligent and highly unprofessional.
I, too, purchased a 32″ statue of Our Lady of Fatima for $1700. It arrived in July 2009, broken! But it was too late.
So I’m to have pity, turn the other cheek … after all, $1700 dosen’t grow on trees. They turned the other cheek and left us with nothing.

Our Lady of Lourdes Traditional Catholic Gifts you will be missed. You provided great service and products. I wanted to get another medal. After reading the posts I must agree we must always forgive. Jesus did not say we must forgive small things but everything. The Our Father prayer says, “and forgive our trespasses and we forgive trespasses against us” What that means is we will be judged by the same measure we judge others. So all of you that have judged these poor people will end up in the lake of fire because you have played God and judged. Jesus was asked how many times must we forgive and He replied 70 X 7. Which means as many times as it takes. After reading these posts one must wonder why the world thinks Catholic don’t practice what they preach.

We had purchased items from OL Lourdes Trad Gifts for years. What a great job they did! We got medals rosaries dvds and even statues. We did not get our last order because they went out of business and we say to these wonderful people, may God Bless you and keep you. Thanks for the great service you provided. JMJ. AL

Best site I ever purcahsed product from. The statues that I got were just perfect, better than the pictures. The custom work I ordered took about a year and half and was worth every penny.
Too bad Our Lady of Lourdes went out of business.
I wll say a Mass for them. Rev. Verra
