EMPIRE BEAUTY SCHOOL HARRISBURG, PA
31 January 2009Not very honorable. My 18 year old daughter registered for a class in harrisburg, pa. She paid $100.00 for registration which she was told was refundable should the sallae Mae loan not come through. She was not told that in the fine print it said she had seven days to find out, or it was not refundable. My daughter was denied the loan and when she went to get a refund, she was told the time frame expired and there would be no refund. Yes, she signed a document and didn’t read it, but Empire School (The school director refused the refund) possibly having a new student in the near future could have given a refund to her till she saved the money. Instead, she feels she was ripped off because the saleswomen left out that detail. She told her half of the requirements to a kid just to make a sale. My daughter learned something in school today. Read anything you sign thoroughly before signing, don’t trust any salesperson know matter how motherly they look and let everyone know in PA how you were treated. The sales women (Mid 50’s) should be ashamed of herself taking advantage of a kid for commission. Empire Beauty school of Harrisburg, Pa must really need the money. It all works out best because I feel in my opinion that this behavior reflects the quality of the school and she could have spent thousands more. Paul Mitchell is availble in the Harrisburg, Pa area. I also contacted the CEO on his blog, but he has not responded. I also contact the BBB to see if they can help her.

I totally agree with the mom of the 18 year old trying to deal with Empire Beauty School. They are desperate for money. My 18 year old daughter is attending one of their schools-:-(. She was awarded financial aid not only to cover their HUGE extremely overpriced tuition, but also money for her to live on. She was awarded the money the middle of May and here it is the middle of June and she still does NOT have her financial aid. I’m so angry!! Tried calling corporate and I still get a run around. Empire will make you jump through 30 hoops (that are lies) to get what is yours. They hire worthless teachers. The so-called director (this is a laugh) will lie-lie-lie to get your money. The facility where my daughter is attending is so run down (paint peeling off the walls, working stations that are practically made of card-board is chipped, broken, falling apart, old, old equipment, no hair supplies to do their practicing with, etc, etc. I could go on and on! BE CAREFUL! BE AWARE! FIND OUT AND READ EVERYTHING FIRST–JUST LIKE THE MOM SAID IN THE ABOVE POSTING-’READ THE FINE PRINT.’ * By the way we did not know half of this and were promised everything was going to get remodeled. HaHaHa!

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there is almost no better feeling than after having a facial and being pampered by a qualified beautician.
